Transitioning to Junior High
We know that your transition from Elementary School to Junior High School is a big change!
You're learning how to navigate a new way of life; new buildings, people, classes, and expectations.
It can be easy to become overwhelmed. Follow the list of things below that will help your transition into Junior High.
- Get to know Casteel's campus and rules.
- Expect more homework.
- Find an organization plan that works for you.
- Join clubs and make new friends.
- Make sure you are sleeping and eating breakfast.

All students will use "My Future AZ" to develop their Education Career Action Plan (ECAP). Read more about by clicking on the button that takes you to an external link.
An ECAP is an individualized plan of action to help students determine their individual academic and career goals. Ask a counselor to learn more about ECAP requirements; you may need extra permissions for the button link that takes you to an external website.
In April, all 7th & 8th grade students participate in this testing. Students will be tested in Reading, Math and Writing. Additionally, 8th grade students will also take the AzSCI, a test to measure their progress on the science standards. Please make every effort to have your student present on testing days.
